If you want to learn to play lead guitar then you already know it is a combination of theory, technique, and natural talent. Everyone wants to be the best lead guitarist they can be. Everyone knows that you have to address the basics such as reading music and listening to music but most don't think about the really important things that will set you apart from other people who want to also learn.

There are six important tips that you will want to remember.

- Technique - Position - Hand Position - Attitude - Discipline - Leadership Skills

Technique

Technique, of course, is one of the key elements you must address when you learn any instrument but especially the guitar. It is really important to get a good teacher to teach you the technique skills and to help you to perfect them. Many famous, and not so famous, lead guitarists will tell you they never stop learning, never stop practicing and never stop perfecting their style. Performing with a guitar is an expression of your talent, you need to practice and perfect your craft.

Position

Most people don't realize that when you first start out learning it is helpful to practice sitting down. This gives you much more control over your instrument and allows you to concentrate on the actual music you are practicing. This might be difficult for some but whether you decide to sit or to remain standing you must always remember to have both feet flat on the ground and to sit with your back straight. This will help you to avoid back strain or injury.

Hand Position

When you are learning you will soon realize that one of the most important things you will learn is how to position your hands. If you start from the beginning with the correct hand positions you will find it much easier later to move through the different chords with ease. It also lets you react quickly if one of your fellow musicians has a problem and makes a mistake. At first it will seem very difficult especially if you have been using incorrect hand positions in the past. Stick with it, practice hand positions regularly, it will pay off in the end when you sound professional.

Attitude

Attitude, and by this we don't mean having a bad attitude, is a very important thing to pay attention to. Attitude affects your body language and this is important. Attitude and body language go together to give you the confidence you will need to perform as a lead guitarist. Watch successful lead guitarists and see how they always look so much more confident than their back-up guitarists. That's attitude!

Discipline

When you first learn to play lead guitar it is easy to be disciplined. Your initial enthusiasm makes it easy to be able to spend hours trying new music and techniques. As you improve it is easy to settle in to a level that is good but maybe not excellent. It takes discipline to maintain a level of practice that will constantly improve your skills. Discipline is what separates an average guitarist from a brilliant one. One good tip is to write out a program and set a schedule with small goals along the way to keep you motivated and on track.

Leadership skills

Leadership skills are important to have if you want to be the one playing the lead. You will be the one people look to for guidance, you will be responsible for all the musicians in the group. You need to be able to pay attention to what everyone is playing and be able to cover mistakes that may happen during a song. This may take a while to get really good at but you should always be training yourself. Try to listen while you are playing and you will improve. This skill will grow if you start right from the beginning when you learn to play lead guitar.

Bass Guitar Lessons

Keeping yourself informed is very important in our times. Do so by reading the following article regarding this topic.

The bass guitar is an instrument normally used in bands to add a deep, rich tone to music. These guitars can be both acoustical and electric, or a combination of both. There are five types of bass guitars available. These include the four string short, medium and long scale, the five string long scale and the six string long scale. The four string short scale bass guitar is the kind most ordinarily used by beginners. This is due to the fact that these guitars are slightly lighter and extremely common. The lighter weight of the guitar allows a beginner to become habitual to the weight of the guitar while they learn. As it is easier to learn on four strings rather than five or six, most beginners work with four. Click Here

When you first learn bass guitar lessons, it is recommended that you take free online lessons, or be tutored by a friend or pro tutor. As the fundamental basics are very significant when you learn the bass guitar, you should make certain that you are not trapping yourself into bad habits.

Once you have well-educated the fundamental basics, which include taking care of your instrument, tuning your guitar and learning the basic strings and note variants, you will begin to learn chords. Chords are a combination of notes played in a certain order or all at once. These chords are combined to get melodies which are in turned used in songs. Learning chords is a requirement to be able to master the bass guitar, so you will spend a great deal of your time memorizing and practicing the different chords.

Learning the bass guitar is a combination of finger memory and memorization of chord patterns. In addition to this, it is having the power to move your fingers in unison. Finger memory, or the ability to have your fingers automatically move to a desired chord without error, is something that many musicians spend years mastering. This finger memory permits a instrumentalist to master extremely difficult runs, or series of chords. The harder the run, the more difficult chords are used within them.

Once you have mastered the basics of the bass guitar, chances are you will end up purchasing a new instrument. The guitars beginners use often have a less rich sound than a master's guitar. When you purchase a guitar, you should balance your current skill with the skill you expect to be at six months from now, then buy a guitar that matches that skill level. Owning a guitar that is slightly more sophisticated than your current skill will cause no harm. Click Here

If you are interested in learning how to play guitar without a fretboard, it is recommended that you convert an older guitar to a fretless board, as this is much cheaper option than buying a high end guitar to learn on.

Playing a musical instrument is a long held dream that many people nurse in their imaginations. They will attend concerts and live shows and dream of the day they can get on stage to perform themselves. These same people often do not believe that they have the ability to take on the challenge of music because they have the false impression that it is too difficult.

Learning a new instrument is no different than learning a new sport. With enough practice and the right instruction, anyone can master the skills that are required to perform really well. In fact, learning musical instruments is even easier than sports because they require less natural ability. This means that you can learn to play guitar even if you never believed it possible before.

In addition to those who have never tried to take lessons to play an instrument, there are also people who have tried learning, but have simply not progressed as far as they would have liked. Often this can result in a feeling of failure, or a desire to quit. But before you give into these negative thoughts, there may be a solution so that you can learn to play guitar like the pro that you dreamed of becoming.

With the right education program, anyone can master a skill so long as they are willing to put in the time and effort. The beauty is that with the right program, the time and effort will not even seem like a forced effort.

The difference between the amateur and the professional musician is not as much in their skill or ability, but rather the difference is in their hands. Every instrument requires that the musician have flexible, strong, and agile hands. This is why music and sports are actually very closely related. If you are looking for learning to play the guitar or to improve your skills, then you need to work your hands.

We use our hands each and every day, but rarely do we pay much attention to them or how strong they are. People join gyms to work out and build muscles in their arms, legs, and stomach, but few trainers think to address the hands. When you are a musician, your hands are your greatest asset. If you want to learn to play guitar, then you need to start building up the strength of your hands.

There is a great music program available at http://www.guitarcoaching.com. Not only does Express Guitar cover all of the fundamental skills that a guitarist needs to master, it also comes with six exciting bonus books that take a student's playing to the next level. In fact, one of these bonuses is a book designated entirely to finger exercises. The system was designed by a professional guitarist with over twenty years of teaching experience, meaning that it is tailored to the special needs of every student.
