I Got a rad accoustic electric guitar today from my grandpa as a hanukah gift. im confused by the chord chart im wicked blonde. i was curious of how long it took others to learn guitar so i can get an estimate fer how long itll take me.

I am an accomplished pianist (playing and taking lessons for 12 years). I’ve taught myself cello but haven’t gotten over the beginner level for the last six years. I sing a lot, especially while I play piano. I know my notes and piano chords and advanced music theory.
I don’t have a lot of time on my hands but I’m wondering if I could learn how to play and sing one song in four months.
Also, can I start on a half-size toy guitar?

You will probably ask me to define “well,” but to be honest, I don’t really know.
I guess I’m just curious how long it takes to be able to switch between chords, and learn a song, and learn to strum well.
I am a girl who can learn fairly fast, and can be very musical. I am thinking of starting to learn guitar.

i took piano lessons before and boy it was kinda hard(yea) so is guitar any easier and faster to learn? how long would it take to learn it?

I want to know how long did it take for you to learn to play guitar (acoustic/classic/ electric) What age where you when you first learned, and was it successful? How many chords did you learn? 50-60 ? What was your instructors technique? Learn by book?
